Hillary Clinton to speak at U of M

    Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to speak at the University of Michigan in October as part of a lecture series for the new Weiser Diplomacy Center (WDC).

    The center, named for former Ambassador and Michigan Republican Party Chair Ron Weiser and former state Board of Education Member Eileen Weiser, is housed in the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.

    Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, will give a lecture on Oct. 10 titled, “Reflections on Foreign Policy: Defense, Diplomacy, and Development.”

    Other speakers in the program include Stephen Biegun, U.S. special representative for North Korea on Sept. 6, and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Oct. 4.

    Susan J. She is the only Michigan journalist to be named to the Washington Post’s list of “Best Political Reporters,” the Huffington Post’s list of “Best Political Tweeters” and the Washington Post’s list of “Best Political Bloggers.” Susan was the recipient of a prestigious Knight Foundation fellowship in nonprofits and politics. She served as Deputy Editor for MIRS News and helped launch the Michigan Truth Squad, the Center for Michigan’s fact-checking project. She started her journalism career reporting on the Iowa caucuses for The (Cedar Rapids) Gazette. Susan has hiked over 3,000 solo miles across four continents and climbed more than 60 mountains. She also enjoys dragging her husband and two teenagers along, even if no one else wants to sleep in a tent anymore.
